spring cleaning

Sometimes literally cleansing your world is the very best way to make it better. Our lives, like our attics, tend to get cluttered. We hold on to things that we think we might need or use someday, and it only weighs down our world.

Clutter makes moving harder. Filtering through boxes of things old and new, sorting, deciding what to hold on to, and what to let go of. All this additional stress in our world that we didn't know we had, and certainly don't need.

I have tons of emotional clutter. I have things I'm holding on to, that I don't need. I need to clean up, and clean out my emotional attic. There will be much more important things that need that energy soon enough, and it's being wasted on clutter.

I don't even like half of the garbage I'm holding on to, but I keep it anyway, as if there's some prize for having the most things cluttering one's mind.

In the long run, there are always things we keep forever. Maybe a family heirloom, maybe a trinket we picked up along the way.it's okay to hold on to some things, but what I guess it comes down to is...do you see that trinket always meaning something to you, or will you find it in a box in the attic somewhere and not even remember where it came from?

Some treasures get lost, and when they come back to you, you appreciate their beauty, their value and their contribution to your world.

No matter how many times factors and surroundings change, I have one treasure in my world and that makes me lucky. One perfect, charming, wonderful, funny and maybe even ridiculously handsome friend that will always brighten my day and will always care about me.

So spring cleaning will make room for more, if anyone is interested.

Also, there's boxes on the curb. Take what you want. The rest...well I don't know.
