I'm officially done treatment! At least for now. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he mentioned something about my medical oncologist maybe wanting to do more chemo, but i'm not too worried about it, as I don't see that doctor until next month, and I need to hear it from him before it's so, anyway.
I am back to work part-time at a local financial institution. I am working about 20 hours a week, and since it's a very small, new branch, it's not very busy. I pretty much sit at my desk at chat or read magazines. It's a little extra money in my pocket and i'm out of the house, so it's fine for now.
I have been out and about a lot more. I went to Parliament Hill for Canada day. Something I have never done before, in all my years living in Ottawa. It was very cool being part of such a large group of people. We went to Jazz fest for the afternoon, then wandered up to the hill for the evening concert and fireworks. We were just about as close to the stage as you can get, and when you turned to look behind you, you saw a crowd of over 300,000 people. It was wicked! I got a badass tan, that day too. The fireworks were beautiful.
I had another birthday pass me by. I didn't do anything crazy. I went out for a couple drinks in the evening with an old friend. I still don't know a ton of people around here anymore, but i'm pretty okay with that. My coworkers are awesome, so I imagine I might be spending more time with them. I see that the old crowd spends almost every weekend at some bar around here, and that's not my lifestyle at all, so I know i'm not missing much.
I'm back to the gym everyday, and could not be happier about it. My trainer thought I would get bored really fast, but so far so good. I feel a lot better, just by going for a couple weeks. My muscles are much tighter, much more defined and as an added bonus i've lost a little bit of weight. I bought a new pair of pants a couple weeks ago, that I couldn't even do up and i'm wearing them right now. Yay me!
Well, i'm off to work. I'll try to update with more another time. I wish I had more to say on this thing, but it seems the older I get, the less ability I have to sit and write about anything for hours.
